Quite an unusual title for a post in a cutesy family blog like mine, you might say, and I must agree it is. And so were the crazy misadventures of MyGirls yesterday.
We are actually preparing to attend the church service but we ended up visiting the Emergency Department of the newly constructed Khoo Teck Puat Hospital in Yishun.
Jane had a regrettable mishap with the master bedroom door and broke her left little toe. (I'm not speaking of toe nails here, but toe bone!) I know she was in excruciating pain but I never saw her eyes well up with tears, neither did she curse nor blame anyone. Knowing she can bear the pain, she still managed to take a bath, dressed up and converse while in the cab. The wheelchair in the hospital was of great assistance while we were in the premises. At least while sitting, the pressure on her injury is reduced to a minimum.
The doctor ordered an x-ray to be done on her left foot and after confirming that her toe bone is fractured, she underwent the painful medical procedure of straightening and bandaging the injury. They gave Jane several mats of extra-strength painkiller tablets and a medical certificate stating that she's unfit for work for seven days. (An MC which turned out to be in vain because she cannot take leave on her duty as a mom and homemaker, it could have been more useful if the MC is addressed to my office so that I can help in the house while she nurse her broken toe.) Anyway, after a while, we had our lunch in one of the hospital's fast food chains.
Minutes later, although still limping, I saw her walking on the hospital garden, guiding our daughter to smell the flowers.
When it's time to go home, Jane surprisingly said that we may take the bus. (I said in jest that we could rather walk since it's just a short distance to home.) Anyway, I insisted that we hire a cab back home.
Home sweet home... and a little siesta.
Shortly after our afternoon nap, while we were watching a replay of American Idol, Ashrie had a small accident with the center table drawer. Part of her "little plumpy" tummy got stucked in the drawer while re-enacting how she closed the same furniture with her tummy earlier. It took Mom a little time to appease her. I know it did hurt a lot because she cried a lot. (Like her Mom, Ashrie has a high- tolerance of pain and would not cry unless she's really in great pain.) A pink gingham plaster is now covering her wound. Oh dear!
What a day it had been. It's :-( sad faces galore! I pray that Jane will recover well and fast and Ashrie's little bruise as well. To my wife, you are indeed a strong and brave woman. You have impressed me yet again with how you handle trials that come your way. Please get well very soon! To Ashrie, and to Jane as well, ABC (Always Be Careful) sweetie!
By the way, she needs to pay a visit to the hospital's Orthopaedic Department next Monday.
Until next time, hopefully to share some good and happy news again.
Praying for you. We speak life and health over you!! We declare double protection upon your life. I speak to toe bone go back to life and be healed in Jesus Name. Be strong in the Lord
