Well, the same is true with parenting and with how we relate to our kids.
Although our daughters look exactly alike the minute they were born, we also noticed how different they are from the second minute and then on. We sometimes cannot help but compare them and we need to constantly remind ourselves that they are two completely different individuals with two specific set of characters, needs, and wants.
And because of this diversity, it is a challenge for us parents to be flexible and creative in dealing with our kids. Things are different for second-time parents like us because circumstances are different. We have been maturing as parents and there are things that we do now with Lia that we wouldn't dare do as new parents for Ashrie.
I'll cite one example. During Ashrie's babyhood, feeding time was like a nurse feeding a patient on her bed. But look at Lia's feeding frenzy now!
Just imagine her having her pumpkin or better yet a gooey but yummy plum purée!
